SUMMARY:Data sovereignty: what approach should the UK take?
DESCRIPTION:Over recent years\, data and data regulation have grown in focus as a key issue for governments to wrestle with\, both domestically and internationally. A government’s approach to data has an effect on its public services\, its economy\, its approach to defence and security\, its citizens’ privacy and ultimately on its sovereignty. The panel will consider questions around the regulation and monetisation of data\, and how the UK’s approach will impact on the Government’s vision of a Global Britain as a leader in science and technology.
