Maxwell Flitton is the co-author of the O’Reilly book Async Rust, and the author of Rust and web programming. He is currently a senior Rust software engineer at the open-source database SurrealDB, and an honorary researcher at Kings College London bioengineering department. At Kings, Maxwell is building an async rust interface for AI-powered by Nvidia GPUs for computer vision. Maxwell also has experience building open-source financial loss modeling engines when working for OasisLMF. Before going back to university to study physics, resulting in becoming a software engineer, Maxwell was an A and E nurse at Charing Cross Hospital.
