Policy and Research
Our Policy engagement spans the key topcis of the day for opennness across all areas of open tech. This work is driven by our organisation’s team, led by Chief Policy Officer and CEO, Amanda Brock, with support from Dr Jennifer Barth, our Chief Research Officer, a Policy Advisory Board of leading experts, and a number of Advisory Boards which have deep subject matter expertise. We bring together understanding and expertise of the state of the market and the future of innovation in these areas through our unique engagement at the intersection of business, technology and research/ academia.
OpenUK engages with UK and international organisations and are Members of Friends of all key bodies. We offer opportunities for community engagement, and for UK based individuals to represent OpenUK on these organisations.
The topics covered in our Policy work and these Boards reflect the key topics in digital and tech and are set out below, and we are happy to discuss participation in our work or to look at new fields of interest.
Our policy work engages with a broad communities of interest through State of Open Con which takes place in London each year on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of February. We also hold Thought Leadership Days and produce industry leading research and reporting in open source.
