James is an open source software developer based in East London. He is currently a Staff Engineer at Addresscloud, a company that helps insurers leverage data to assess geographic risk. He has previously worked at several companies leveraging satellite imagery and positioning. James is the lead maintainer of the Terra Draw project which has received grants from OSGeo UK in recognition of his open source contributions. Recently, he has been exploring the intersection of satellite imagery data and open AI models via the project.

He has been active in the FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) community for many years. In 2018, he chaired the UK national event and has spoken at several of its international conferences across America and Europe.

He holds a MSc in Geospatial Information Science from University College London.
