Tom is an award-winning community organiser, software engineer, business leader, and academic, passionate about bringing people together and strengthening inclusive tech ecosystems. He believes strongly in the importance of giving back to the wider community, and alongside his work with HackTheMidlands and TechMids (raising over £170k in sponsorship since 2016), serves as Treasurer of the BCS Birmingham Branch, Director of Southside BID, and a school Governor at his old secondary school. Interests include grassroots community engagement, governance and scrutiny, and education – particularly as an enabler of social mobility.
