Andrew is a lawyer and former software developer (many years ago he released a time and billing system under the GPL). He has advised on open source and open technologies for more than 25 years. He has an interest in Open Hardware and is a member of the core drafting team for the CERN Open Hardware Licence. He also drafted the Solderpad Hardware License, and was the open hardware section lead for the European Commission’s Report on Open Source Software and Hardware released at the end of 2021. He speaks and publishes widely.
