Dear Readers,

Representing open source at the AI Action Summit in Paris was a huge privilege and the team at OpenUK worked quickly with me to produce one of the first reports on the summit, which showcases a number of announcements about opening AI, including the Current AI Foundation and ROOST, open source tooling to secure AI.  We hope to work with both organisations. It was notable that the discussion has shifted from open source ai to open weights models and open source tooling.

We have the usual events coming down the line including our next Thought Leadership Day taking place at Pembroke College Cambridge on 14 May, details to follow shortly but please if you can make it, save the date.
